Anessa is also currently in development for Reign, a steampunk rock opera based on Christopher Marlowe's Edward II (written with Will Shishmanian). Footprints in the Sand, and a one-woman show to premiere in early 2021. Anessa is also an orchestral composer, having recently completed A New York Renaissance, a 65-minute 6 movement response to living in NYC through COVID-19 and the BLM Movement, for solo piano and symphony orchestra to debut in 2022. Anessa is also currently writing the score for the film Transit, A NY Fairytale, in collaboration with Pooya Mohseni.

In 2020, Anessa founded the Phoenix Trans Chorus of NYC. The organization will have its premiere performance post-COVID once it is safe to gather again. Anessa also works with the Youth Pride Chorus in NYC, and is the resident music director for Trans Voices Trans Cabaret.

A proud member of Maestra Music (Click here for Anessa's Maestra profile), in 2020 Anessa facilitated a workshop with the organization titled "Creating Inclusivity: Working with TGNC Musical Talent" focused on creating a better environment for the transgender-identified population in theatre throughout the casting, rehearsal, and performance process. As a transgender woman, Anessa is especially drawn to telling stories representing the underdogs in society. Anessa's goal is to give a voice to the unheard voices of today, in the hopes that tomorrow will lend a voice to those without presently.

Available for commissioned work, Anessa specializes in composition for musical theatre, along with arrangements and orchestrations for all genres.
